As the end of October is rapidly approaching, the competition for who can come up with the most creative costume is prevalent amongst the college football universe.
With a game that happens to fall on Halloween this year, the Georgia Bulldogs have been experimenting with ideas for an appropriate costume to wear together as a team, and it appears that they’ve come up with their greatest idea to date.
Earlier this afternoon Georgia head coach Mark Richt released a statement to the press claiming that the entire Georgia team will dress up as football players for their matchup against the Gators.
“I absolutely love their idea,” Gators head coach Jim McElwain said.
A football player from the state of Georgia? Who would’ve thought of that! It’s everything a costume should be: creative, unrealistic, and absolutely genius.”
Each team member is expected to wear a helmet, pads, cleats and a jersey to provide the convincing illusion of an actual football team.
Diehard bulldogs fan Roy Mckinley is a proponent of the team’s idea.
“How ‘bout them dawgs, huh! This idea is the best thing that’s happened to Georgia all season,”
Mckinley said.
Finally I get to sit back and watch 11 of my best friends pretend like they can play football! What’s better than that?”
A high-tension rivalry game with 2 of the nation’s most respected teams, there are big expectations for this year’s “spooky showdown” at EverBank field. Fans from all over the South are expected to attend.
“A Halloween game happens once in a blue moon, and we’re as pumped as ever. We’re trickin’, we’re treatin’ and we’re bulldog beatin’ and this McElwain train stops for nobody. Go Gators!” Coach McElwain concluded.
Further information will be released later, but for now the variations of Georgia’s football player costume will include “Sexy Starter,” “Haunted Home Team,” and “Frightening Fumble.”
