The Really Independent Florida Crocodile

FSU fans go back into hiding after Georgia Tech game

Florida State University football fans, who came out of hiding just last week after the Gators lost to LSU, have quickly returned to whatever hole they go to after losing to Georgia Tech.

FSU fans, always eager to celebrate over nothing, were ecstatic when the Seminoles lined up to kick a field goal with six seconds left and the game tied. The field goal was blocked, returned for a TD, and silence fell over Twitter in Tallahassee.

“I, uh, I gotta go,” said Lucas Taylor, an FSU student who earlier told the Crocodile that the “Gators suck lol” after they lost to powerhouse LSU. Now, after losing to lowly Georgia Tech, Taylor smashed his cell phone, grew wings and flew directly into the sun, exploding on impact.

Nick Diaz, another FSU student, purposely added himself to the UF Class of 2018 Facebook group to troll the Gators, but now has become the butt of jokes.

“My team lost to a nobody school in one of the worst ways possible,” Diaz said, tearing up.

Now all I have to look forward to every Saturday is making fun of Helios at the Crocodile.”

Georgia Tech, having earned the gratitude of the rest of the world, has elected to forfeit the rest of the season so the program can end on the highest of notes.

The loss, not even one of the two games Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher expected to lose, has put a damper on the school’s post season plans.

“Seeing that we won’t beat Clemson or Florida, I’ve already booked my vacation,” Fisher said. “I’ll be watching the playoffs from Hawaii.”

Jameis Winston sent his condolences via Twitter:

Don’t feel bad, guys! I’m not winning either!”

Jim McElwain chuckled after being told FSU lost, having not cared enough to watch the game.

Looks like the University of Florida got a win during the bye week after all.”
