The Really Independent Florida Crocodile

Humans of UF Part 1

We at the Crocodile like to take out time to connect with average people whom you may pass by on a daily basis but never talk to. Maybe they’re boring or ugly. Maybe they’re that kid you do the awkward sidewalk-dance with. Either way, here are their stories.

“Oh, I don’t actually go here. I’m at Santa Fe, but I walk around the UF campus and sit in on random classes. I talk to the people in there and try to get invited to parties. Usually it works because I tell people I’m busy all the time doing school work when I’m actually sitting at home. If people start asking too many questions, I just pretend I have a family emergency in another city and stop talking to them. Man, UF parties are the best!”

“Dude, I’m way too high for this sh*t”

“I love everything about Gainesville: the shops, the restaurants, the landscape. One thing I hate though are all the homeless people. I mean, they always make everything awkward when they hang around the edge of campus. I know other students feel the same, so we have been going out at night and killing one or two every week. We’re hoping to fix the problem, but we know it’s a slow process.”
