By now you’ve probably seen the annual arrival of one of the most notorious groups on campus: the anti-abortion protesters. Well folks, I’m going to go ahead and step up and say that these fellas are maybe taking it a teensy bit over the line!
When there’s silence on an issue like this, people tend to suppress their true feelings about travesties that could be occurring on their very own campus. That’s why I’m speaking out against one of the most already-hated groups on campus, throwing myself on the cross for my fellow students so that we may all be open about whether or not we appreciate the demonstrations in Turlington Plaza.
I’ll acknowledge that I could be wrong in my proclamation. I realize that, five or six years down the road, history could prove that the protesters weren’t just pushing it the tiniest little smidge over the boundary of decency in their campaign. But there’s a voice that needs to be heard here, and that voice wants people to know that perhaps these demonstrators might be starting to test it a bit.
Folks, we’re all entitled to our beliefs. This is America, where freedom of speech reigns supreme. By using my freedom to make some waves and ruffle some feathers, I hope one day to start the conversation on whether or not this gang is starting to get the slightest bit tastelessly provocative. Let’s make that day today.
